He couldn't have made this much easier. A beautiful male gerenuk, in feeding position. Gerenuk are found in a couple of tiny areas in Kenya, this being in Samburu. Samburu is typically semi-arid, but this year the el nino created a green, almost lush landscape. Gerenuk (also called giraffe necked antelope) have long necks, and have adapted a standing feeding posture to eat from acacia bushes. So while this gerenuk probably had ample food all around him, he still grazed as usual.
